It seems that Jennifer and I have added Saturdays to our bootcamp workout schedule. We generally go Monday, Wednesday, and Friday here in Ashland, and the Medford group meets Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. We went this morning (Saturday) for the second Saturday (not last week, but the week before). Okay, I realize that 4:58am is insanely early to set ones alarm on a Saturday morning (I have to leave my house at 5:15am - or close to it - in order to meet her at Safeway at 5:30am), but believe it or not, it's worth it. I've come to the point in my life that I am willing to sacrifice even precious sleep in order to have some time for myself, and to spend it with girlfriends. It's a great feeling to be back home at 8:30am on Saturday, having already gotten in a great hour long workout, coffee with friends, and ready for a hot bath. I told Cory some time ago that he needed to be glad that we weren't both athletic, or we might have conflicting schedules. Well, this morning we kissed good morning in passing. I walked in the door at 8:30am, and he walked out at 8:35am to leave for a mountain bike ride. Fortunately, we met back together around noon and had dinner together with the kids. There is only so much time in a day, and a certain amount of energy to fill it with, and these days, adding in a bit of time for myself seems to be working well.
I ran my furthest yet last Saturday afternoon. 4.5 miles. 41, almost 42 minutes, it took me. I know that many could do it much faster, but for me, this time was great, let alone the fact that I was able to do it at all! It was hard, it hurt a little, okay, at moments, maybe a lot, but I did it. I don't know that I'll make a habit of it, running has never come easy to me, but to know that I can is a great feeling.
For those of you that use to follow my blog, and may have wondered where I went since I dropped off last Summer, I started working out, on a regular basis. Shifting my priorities, trying to simplify things, my schedule, my life, my household, blogging moved to the back burner, but is hopefully making its way back to the forefront, even if just for a few months, while my parents are away.
So, there's a bit about me.
